I'm not that much into horror. At the same time I apparently don't mind gruesome things. So what even is horror for me? This one wasn't. Yeah, ok, so some things were like… wtf? But at the same time it was so out of this world, it just never touched me that much. Yk, ghosts, alternative place and stuff. It's a good enough story, but not horror-esque. At least for me. (Maybe I am after all into horror :D )
So about the game: We play as this girl, who once in her life visited the Manten Aquarium and didn't really dare going back to it after that, bc she lost somebody (only small spoiler, bc it's becoming clear early on). But thanks to a friend she goes back to the place. And while all seems perfectly fine at the beginning things go south very fast. After that, we try getting out of this different setting. Or well, at some point we try getting all possible deaths, bc there are a few waiting for us :]
The writing, drawing and music was nice enough. I was annoyed by the long… mmmmh, endings? You can't rly finish that, just wait till the title of the end pops up, then a pic aaaaand back to the menu, which loads rather slowly, bc instead of just being there, things move around and you have to wait until they settled before you can click stuff. That was a bit of a bummer.
Right, nearly forgot to mention this: Sometimes things didn’t really make sense to me. I don’t often stumble across stories were I’m wondering if it maybe made more sense, if I could read it in German, but at times, this happened here. In the end I doubt it though. I think it just didn’t always make sense in itself. This whole different dimension thingy… yeah, things just weren’t clear. So yeah, overall nice enough, just didn't really get me. Neither in the horror aspect nor in the "oh, I'm so into this!"

Recommendation? Yeah

Wow, ok, this is a tough one with the rating. Bc I liked it. Very much. But at the same time I had this trouble of not remembering all too well what I did in the first game, so that was the real downside with this one. I kinda whish there would have been a "this happened last time", tuned on my choices. But yeah, that never was part of the thing and now it's too late anyways. I would very much have liked to try out this… mmh, playing with others? Bc Apparently it was possible to play (as a host), have your friends watch and decide. So either the host makes the final decision or the majority counts. That would probably have been a lot of fun. But don't think it'll work after TT is down. So not gonna happen. Sadly.
I had a few troubles with the game. First and biggest one was at Wayne Enterprise in the lift. Totally didn't see any animation, only choices. I think there also was a bit of laggyness with the cut scenes. But yeah, the lift scene was the worst.
I really enjoyed the story - after my initial problems of getting back into it. I very much liked how you can make things go down oh so differently. And how you can turn black/white to loads of shades of grey. How the villain maybe is not and the hero has to get into the dirt to do things. And suddenly it's all getting muddy - and bloody. Sadly the final outcome will probably always be the same.
Although this game really, really, really tempts me to play it again and do things differently - mainly not forgive ppl o.o -, I shall not. Maybe I will go back one point in the future, but atm one time is enough for me - I know I wouldn't restrain myself if it was the final Walking Dead Season. But it isn't, so there we are. Done and on we go!
Hidden LEWD rating: Nope
Gay-Ship: Well that would be Bats and Joker, wouldn’t it? But nope, that doesn’t seem too right o.o
Recommendation? Yes!

Ok this was bad-ish? The most obv (for me) the language. It was understandable, that's for sure, but it was at times rly not pretty. Like some things the MC (a boy btw o.o) said made it sound as if he knew the girl(s) he might that one night for a pretty long time. Example: She would never change. Dude, you know her for maybe an hour? How can you already say what's typical? How can you know if she is this way or maybe stressed out and just acting? Yeah, sry, I don't get that.
Which leads us to the story. It sure was fit for Halloween - surprise: it actually plays on Halloween. Three boys walk into a forest in the night. A supposedly cursed forest? Something like that. And then things happen - shortly after they were about to die from boredom. Thankfully that didn't happen. Instead, yeah, bizarre things that normally don't happen in the middle of the night in some forest. We are confronted with two girls. It's very much a question of trusting them - which no normal person would, bc… we are in the middle of the forest, in the middle of the night, with girls that can not be there. Oh right, IN A SUPPOSELDY CURSED FOREST! WITH GIRLS, THAT ARE NEVER AROUND! Dude, why the heck would you trust them? Well, we do. And either we die, do bad things or safe the day. Hurray!
Thankfully it was short xD

Cat Story ahead!
Tizio was a very brave cat today. He went outside. Into the garden. All. By. Himself! And he stayed for a bit and had a nice enough time.
Afterwards he came back upstairs, did his cute baby meowing, stuffed his face with food and climbed into his hammock at the heater. Oh man, life can be soooo exhausting!

So much from me :)
Have a lovely week!

My Time at Portia is a really amazing game! It was one of those rare games that I wanted so badly when I found out about it that I actually paid full price for it. Definitely worth it. I hope you enjoy it!

ninglor03

I’m pretty sure I will. Don’t hold it against me, if I wait a bit before I start with it though. I think I should first do the Very Long one for PoP, before I can get into it without felling the pressure ;)
Although I’m very hyped! I’m so into these games.
Harvest Moon ruined me. It’ll never go away. Well, let’s see how long I can keep my distance :D

RikkiUW

That’s definitely fair. I’ve actually never played harvest moon, I keep hearing it’s good though. Not sure it’s worth getting at this point.

I’m realized just the other day, that I lost track of the newest HM games and I have to fix that and probably get them. Well xmas is coming, so that’s a good thing, right? :D
I still love them. And still play them. Like in holidays. Without a PC. Very nice indeed :D
I still think they are - mostly - better then the PC games which are like HM but are not HM. At least I didn’t play one yet, which was as good. Maybe My Time at Portia? We’ll have to see :]
So yes, worthy! \o/
(Can’t say about the newer ones though ;) )

Best girl?

Best girl.

ninglor03

Well I always tried getting the boys <3
Although I’m still waiting for a same gender pairing… <3
(In that sense some PC games are superior o.o)

Trent

Thank you for the update. It had real gaming progress too– and a cat story! :D

ninglor03

Sure did! Although I’m still farming. But yes! Gaming! \o/
And cat. Cat is important! <3

Man, The Enemy Within turned out so great and I had less than great expectations if I’m being perfectly honest here. I referenced it in my own take, but I imagine it had something to do with season two being Telltale’s last normal developed game and their proper last hoorah as a developer. Last season of The Walking Dead had to be cobbled together post-mortem.

ninglor03

I was - and am - so happy about this one! Now with a bit distance even more so! And I kinda wanna know how it all works out if things go differently with Joker. Buuuuut that’ll have to wait :D
I’m still sad. And the wound is still not healed, the moment I play another TT game. All is suddnely coming back. There will be no new TT games in the future ;(
Well, ok, but I still got a few on my list, so that’s ok. I only have to get ahold of them :D
