March update

Click here to jump to the next update

Overall backlog progress:
26% completed
52% beaten
2% unfinished
3% never played
17% won't play

Pros:
- Story is not terribly bad. Good enough to push me forward
- Needed objects aren't hidden in super weird places
- Huge gameplay upgrade when I compare it to previous game
- Interesting restrictions game mechanic

Cons:
- "Game humor" that's degraded to killing every single NPC you make contact with. It could be funny 1st time, after xth time it stops to be dark humor, and stars to be utterly annoying
- Illogical puzzle solutions. Like using cheese as punch card. Srsly?
- Even when restriction mechanic is nice, animations that are used there are way too long

Conclusion:

This game is not bad. But it's also not good. You need to help your friend Harvey, as evil doctor wants to lock her up in mental hospital. Gameplay wise it's like any other Point&Click plus restrictions mechanism (you can't perform certain actions untill you lift them up) like "you won't play with fire" or "you won't lie to adults".

You may like it if you're really into Point&Click games (and this black humor won't make game awkward), but at the same it's IMO in skip category if you don't need to play in all those Point&Click games out there.

Next month gaming:

- Earthlock - I will try to beat it. But this game is not good, and feels quite grindy. And K+M controls are not the best.

On hold:

Same as month ago

Side note

I think I will quit gaming after I beat leftovers from my backlog. Not only it’s not giving me any kind of relief or enjoyment, I’m also in no mental state to do anything. Will wait till I get game I really want to play and my state is more stable. So I may skip some monthly updates, as I won’t have anything to write about.

I’m sorry to hear that, though I can understand the sentiment. Anything that’s not an essential part of life and isn’t giving you joy is better put aside for the time being so you can focus on your health. I hope it works out for you, I really do. It’s selfish to say but I’ve been worried about you these last few days and it would be great to see you feeling brighter.

Please don’t feel obliged to play Dying Light at all, I don’t care in the slightest if it’s never played. All that matters is you, so do whatever you need to do and feel free to pester me anytime you may need something, I wish I could do more. If somehow I can do anything to help then just let me know. Good luck matey!

I’m sorry to read that drop
But since it is most important to find joy in gaming, I totally get where you are coming from. Sometimes games are just not… doing that anymore. I sooooo hope, you’ll be better soon! If you ever wanna talk or anything, you know where to find me :)

Yeah, gaming stopped to be really enjoyable some time ago. Like 8 years ago xD And after that it started to kinda deteriorate… there were times where I played as I had games in backlog, and nothing else to do. But without backlog I won’t have this need to play anymore. So I think it’s gonna be a good thing. I will have to try find something other that will fill my free time.

I may not find it, but I think anything will be better than doing stuff I don’t enjoy just because I’m used to it.

And thanks :D I’m sure I will poke you in your posts from time to time

ninglor03

That sucks! :(
But yeah, I’m pretty regularly there too, I just try pushing through it and hoping I might find one that grabs me and is fun. Happens every now and then :D

Knitting! nod nod ;) :D

I’m looking forward to those pokes then ^^
