Minamimoto
March 2020
Wow, what a month… March was expensive! Many great games came out like Ori, Pokemon and Animal Crossing, two of my favorite shows got their new season finally arrive to Germany and… well yes. Corona happened. And because of that there are sales everywhere and free stuff so people would stay more indoors. I’m a bit glad March is over because of all the new stuff I bought x_x And I truly hope that the pandemic will find an end soon b/c I’m honestly annoyed of it and also a bit afraid of what will still happen.
Also! I got a tattoo! (I put a picture under Crochet ‘em All) It’s my first one and I truly do love it! I always wanted something with Pokemon and Zelda as they both accompany me my whole life and influenced me. So it turned out to be a Dragonite that eats the Triforce :3c Dragonite always was my favorite Pokemon and it always will be so it was perfect for that motive. Also people asked me why the heck pi floats randomly around but in fact it’s not that random at all. My favorite character of all time Sho Minamimoto of The World Ends With You is deeply in love with math and also got the nickname Pi-Face. When I fell in love with him I was so obsessed that I tried to memorized Pi as far as I can (and I got pretty far tbh) so it also has a deep meaning for me. Without the game TWEWY and without my love to Sho I wouldn’t have met my best friend who also is a cosplayer. And if that isn’t enough: my Dragonite or Dratini when I catch him always carries the nickname “San-Ichi” which stands for the japanese numbers 3 and 1 which are the first digits of pi. :3 So not that random anymore right?
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX
If you loved the first PMD Team Red/Blue you definitely will also love DX. It's true that the game don't offer many new things but it improved it's old mechanics and... well the story was already awesome then so it still is. The graphics look really nice and the music is also still the same but with better sound. So seriously. I don't have anything to complain at all.
When I played the demo I was pretty disappointed. You starter Pokemon already have four pretty strong attacks and you can walk automatically. You see, PMD R/B is one of my favorite games of all time, so I was thinking what the heck happened to the series? It felt so easygoing for a game that could be pretty hard. But don't judge the demo! Like I said I thought it was bland too but the remake is indeed even harder than the original! Pokémon doesn't have to be easy and PMD Red/Blue and now DX prove that. You have to think really tactical to make it through each dungeon and the bosses take a lot of time and thinking to get them down.
The only sad thing (beside the story itself T^T) is that critics don't give this game much points (in fact no PMD did ever) and I just can't see why but my guess is that they just don't like dungeon crawlers? Because if you like Pokemon, an awesome story with awesome soundtrack and a challenge in it's gameplay PMD DX was made for you. It's also a far better game than Sword/Shield (which is btw loved by the critics?) Finger's crossed they'll do a remake of Explorers of Sky too :^)
The Boogie Man
A horror RPG Maker game with a surprisingly good story? Definitely wouldn't have expected that! The controls were just fine for a RPGM game and there aren't even many jump scares – at least none of them is really making you jump high.
You play as a detective, who got an invitation for vacation in a castle with his wife and at the first night already the Boogie Man appears, kidnaps everyone except for the detective and wants you to chase him down before he kills them all off. Tbf the story wasn't the greatest, it has so many flaws and holes and cliches and the ending is pretty predictable but it was still pretty alright and very enjoyable.
The art is awesome, I loved every one of them and at some point of the game I was hoping for seeing some more CG, especially as they make it's main character far more lovable (I mean he looks like Levi. How could I not love his design?). The biggest problem I had with the game was it's voice acting. The voice of the main character was horrific! He didn't got any sound in it's voice, no emotions and it drove me crazy. The detective was designed to be a emotionless dude but his voice actor couldn't even give him some variation when they were needed. The whole game he just reads out loud what he was supposed to read x_x No wonder I tried to turn the whole voice acting off before until I gave up (it's not possible). The other characters are just fine. Most of them have a really nice voice, some were semi. But the voice acting of the MC ruined a lot; especially the ending would've been so much more emotional if it wasn't for his voice.
I'm kind of pissed off by myself for not playing the other three games before because some characters were returning and it may have spoiled something for me. Anyway I look forward to playing them!
Kingsway
Twitch
Seems like this is the month of awesome games to play? I usually don't like rogue games at all but this one got me so hooked! It simulates a desktop where you play the game Kingsway. You choose your adventurer out of four classes, give him a starting stat and try to save the word in a limited time. Everything is a little desktop window; the map where you choose where to go next, your inventory and of course the battles. The battle windows will float around your screen so it's sometimes hard to hit the button to attack or block or use an ability.
I needed a few tries to get into this game, getting out how do do things, which options are useful and which are not how much time there is to level up and how far east you can go without being underleveled and so on. But even figuring out and dying a lot of times was fun and as soon as you get the grip the game gets even more addictive when you slay each monster until the very end :'3 Recommended!

I see you’re using an open lock for DRM-free games. Since I, too, struggled to find an adequate icon for those, I feel I should point you to an image I’ve found after some researches and settled for it. The following is the label proposed by the Free Software Foundation for DRM-free works, straight from the DRM wiki page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management#/media/File:DRM-free_label.en.svg (Not embedding it as image ‘cause .svg don’t get shown)
Absolutely not telling you you have to change it, just wanted to share an alternative :)
Thank you for the suggestion :) I use the BLAEO Generators made by kubikill for those boxes and the icons were just added recently. I think they’re pretty neat but you’re right. The open lock symbol is okay but yours is better and more recognizable. Maybe I should recommend the alternative to him too.
That indeed looks much better! I’ll see if I can replace the lock icon with it. Thanks for bringing this up!
