Iā€™ll be honest: growing up doesnā€™t get well with gaming.. why whole months pass and I canā€™t even manage to play once.. it sucks.
I keep thinking Ā«Iā€™d really like to play nowĀ», Ā«perhaps tonight I could be able to play a littleĀ» and such.. but most of times it just ends with me going to bed disappointed :\

I still read from time to time what you write, as itā€™s always interesting, but Iā€™m not as regular as before; and, of course, I do not have enough time to read it all (otherwise I would be playing) =P

Iā€™ve also started playing games outside Steam, thatā€™s why it seems Iā€™ve been playing even less than how it really is. (not much more tho)

Anyway, in my last post I mentioned how I had reached 4500 achievements (yes, that was in 2019).. and today Iā€™m telling you Iā€™ve just obtained the 5000th! šŸ„³

Itā€™s called You Have a Great and itā€™s from Muse Dash. Have a look at it:

Not much, but itā€™s honest work ā€” some would say.

If you donā€™t mind the question: Where is the issue with gaming time? I am 38 right now and still find lots of time for playing. Granted my girlfriend is pretty chill about it. I think as long as you donā€™t have kids, it shouldnā€™t be that much of an issue.

Though, I donā€™t know, there might be a lot of reasonable things which can consume time as well (Buying/Building a house, bad work times, sickness, other time consuming hobbies, ā€¦).

malabagaa

Well, you said most of the issues yourself..
At work we are kind of understaffed, so Iā€™m working overtime almost daily; with my gf, we are actively looking for a house (without much success); also, contrary to your, my gf ā€œhatesā€ videogames, even if I have to say that lately seems she tolerates more when I play, compared to before. And, of course, thereā€™s all the house tasks to do, cleaning, cooking and so on, plus the human interactions that are needed to live in this society. Iā€™ve been able to carve out some time to play by organizing tasks and sleeping less.
If you have any advice, please, Iā€™m all ears :)

Youā€™re allowed to make posts about those, too. Iā€™ve done it before, and Iā€™ve seen other people do it on this site before as well. In fact, Iā€™m playing a PS3 game right now, and you bet Iā€™m gonna make a post about it after I beat it.

why whole months pass and I canā€™t even manage to play once

If it helps, maybe next time you should treat it like a vacation: plan ahead, take off work, let your family know ahead of time that youā€™ll be unavailable for a few weeks, etc., THEN activate Game Pass (emergencies are obviously an exception, but hopefully, they wonā€™t last the whole month).

I know, Iā€™ve seen them.. Itā€™s just that I finished close to nothing šŸ˜…
The most played game itā€™s Genshin Impact.. well, thatā€™s until my wifi started to stop working whenever I launch it. Also, Iā€™m a super ā€œignorantā€ about it (I play it like a classic RPG, but Iā€™ve noticed that there are many other things to do.. for example, I was with the starting party until not too long ago, didnā€™t know you could use wish to get new chars.. I thought youā€™d unlock them through the story as you did with the first ones.)

Thatā€™s also something Iā€™m wondering about.. take some days off work from time to time just to play :)
Luckily, my backlog is huge, so I donā€™t need Game Pass or similar.

Feel you! Have same situation: a lot of work, even outside of work; child; wife that doesnā€™t think it is ok to spend time gamingā€¦ But want to inspire you: there is a chance you will find a balance in lifeVSgaming issue. I almost did. Mainly by refusing completely online gaming (all this MMO-something, even shooters, are huge time thieves) and being more careful with games I choose to play. Also a real game changer was Steam Deck - perfect for short gaming sessions.

So keep trying and find best practices for yourself. You can do it šŸ’Ŗ

I hope the price of Steam Deck will drop in the future, as it is a bit too high for me atm.. but, yes, it does seems interesting/useful

Thanks, same to you šŸ’Ŗ
