October 2025 Report!

And October ended with a spooky finish!

Finally finished Mass Effect Andromeda! Best way to describe is if an AA game had a shiny AAA coat that falls of not even halfway through. It would be a bit better if it had 50 hours less content; I was bored, tired and depressed half the time while playing it. There are times where a Mass Effect game shines through, but it’s laid down like breadcrumbs in-between repetitive quests and filler material. It’s not without its merits, but if you’re not already a fan, I don’t recommend starting the Mass Effect series with this one.
Ratshaker was quite disappointing. 10% funny parody and 90% generic horror walking sim. It doesn’t do anything noteworthy with its concepts.
Zomborg is one of the worst games I played this year, yay?
Hyperviolent has buggy achievements (and bugs in general) in case you wanted to give 1.0 release a try. It’s decent, but it feels lacking and underbaked in a lot of places, especially the last half of the game. There are games doing what Hyperviolent tries a lot better, might as well play System Shock!
RoboCop: Rogue City is nice! Though watching the first two movies is a must, there’s no recap or intro for new players. You can see where devs ran out of budget, but they did good with what they had.
Warhammer 40k Words of Vengeance added more levels, so did a replay!

May sound like I had a bad month gaming-wise, but it was decent all things considered ^_^ Other games I didn’t mention were fun.
