Monthly Update #42: November 2022
Some HOGs, Shadow of Mordor and I bought Darktide to play with friends.
Darktide has pretty much taken over the last week or two of the month. My discord group is playing, and even a colleague at work is, so easy to find people to group up with as well.
It's been fun so far, minus the crashes especially in that first week.
Completed/Beaten
Had to replay nearly half the game because I missed a collectible :(
Was super quick to skip through the second time though
Very generic, even for a HOG.
Alchemy/Candy crush mini-game makes it slightly different I guess.
Voice Actresses for main character and the villain sounded so similar.
Played
Yeeeeeeah already 20 hours in, and just from beta. D:
It's fun! I think it's pretty bare bones, but it's great to find a game my friend group is all having fun playing.
I'm really enjoying this game so far - which I did not expect. More of a random pick of something to play on my TV with a controller.
I've been distracted from it the last couple of weeks though with Darktide…

Is there a game you’re looking forward to playing in december?
I’ve gotten a lot better at not adding a lot of games to my backlog! The HOGs were a surprise for me with getting them done this month. Haven’t played a HOG for ages.
I’m thinking I’ll be playing more darktide, but hopefully I’ll get some singleplayer games done.
I’ve said I’ll do shadow warrior 2 for PAGYWOS, but we’ll see if that happens :D

OMG I completely forgot that PAGYWOS is a thing. I really need to get back into gaming!
So what is your opinion on the progress mechanics and the other side stuff for Darktide? I heard a lot of complaining then again, the Discord I’m in is used to power-gaming and such.
HmmmI’m finding there isn’t really to much to aim for! Just pretty much slow stat progression.
Cosmetics are awful.
But otherwise I’m still finding it somewhat enjoyable to just play a round or two with friends. Haven’t hit 30 though
Congratulations on your assassinations!!!! I haven’t heard of darktide but it sounds like a multiplayer, and I tend to shy away from those. Was it your favorite game this month??
Yeah it’s a 4 player co-op, made by the Devs of Vermintide! It’s only just officially released this month, the last couple of weeks have been the beta.
I did enjoy this game the most this month. More because it’s a game that friends are all playing as well :D
