First game finished , yay!

The story and environment is well done. Performance issues despite being released in 2010, felt the frames dropping hard when multiple enemies appeared.

The game lets you progress to the next zone without buying gas mask filters. Rushing for the next checkpoint usually saves you, unless you are on the surface, in that case checkpoints will save but you will start out suffocating and dying within 10 seconds, tough lesson. At least I got that shiny weapon upgrade.

I usually sway away from anything that even hints at horror, but that post-apocalyptic itch needed a scratch. Overall a decent game that I’d recommend (Go for the redux version if you can).

Now the wait for F4 and that eventual PC upgrade begins.

Progress on other games

The Book of Unwritten Tales : 3 chapters down and really enjoying it , lots and lots of humor and fourth wall breaking jokes. The difficulty level is beginner friendly.

Fez: Around 40% done and it seems to overuse the same mechanic, the biggest challenge so far is the navigation, not the puzzles.

I just copied the code for the game header btw, if there is a syntax that generates those automatically someone needs to tell me.

You can check TopDeer’s guide here. I believe the user average is obtainable from the Overall rating on the respective game steam page (while overing it shows the %).

Congratulations on finishing Metro! :D

Guide is nice, those parts were a bit self-explanatory for me, have some experience with html/css. Instead of the google color picker, used imagecolorpicker.com to get one closest to the image.

I though the percentage had something to do with achievements, rating makes sense, thanks.

Congrats on your first finished game here! And it took you less than 8 hours to finish Metro? That’s pretty quick, you didn’t have too much trouble during your playthrough then :)

I do not enjoy most horror games, and this had plenty of horror elements. The plan was to get through it without exploring too much :) IE: When I got stuck on depository, instead of playing with those fuckers for ages I watched some walkthrough to find the proper way.

I was expecting a mean boss at the end, the “smart” ones were really underwhelming.

Hm. Do you mean the Dark Ones which you nuke away at the end? Because part of the game is to realize that you don’t have to nuke them away and instead try to get in contact with them. It’s like the whole point of the game to understand that you shouldn’t just kill everything in sight because you don’t understand it. That said it only slightly changes the ending scene and it feels totally anti-climatic that you stop the nukes in the end knowing how many rangers died for this …. Also, according to a summary I read Artyom does nuke them away in the books.

The Dark Ones saved me during the game (grabbed me and pulled me through the gate), I was expecting more perhaps. But all that talk that this mission saves mankind, the dark ones whispering “destroy him” “ he can not live”, instantly pulled that trigger. Just watched the alt ending on YT, I don’t think I’ve even got to listen to the “we want peace” stuff. Anyway, no regrets.

73% completed. woah. that’s dedication

Congratulations finishing your first game here, and welcome! :D
Metro 2033 is indeed a well done game… loved it and came back to it last year to 100% \o
Hahah I learned about the checkpoints in the surface the same way as you… Damn, I needed to reload the whole chapter because I didn’t have mask filter and was dying like 30 seconds after load the game ;(

Metro 2033 is known for its bad optimization… but yet, a really good game. Like you, I recommend the redux version too, but if not possible, 2033 is as good as the redux :D
