hi, i’m newish here, and this is my first post.

having amassed nearly 60 games from SG giveaways, i decided to participate in this month’s Play A Game You Won On SteamGifts challenge. i chose Jack Orlando: Director’s Cut, a game that’s been burning a hole in my library for 2 years. it was quite a slog that i wouldn’t have had a chance of getting through without a guide - even for a point & click adventure it was unintuitive - but i beat it. can’t say whether i completed it because a) no achievements, and b) the game is so full of stuff that never leads you anywhere that it would take forever to exhaust all the dialogue options, find all the easter eggs, etc.

question: how are people making the games show up in their posts all pretty? it’s not explained how to do that in the markdown formatting page.

Nice little site. Got a couple of different ways of showing games here. If you dont want to input everything yourself, go to settings and use your steamid. Good luck with your backlog

thanks!

btw you forgot your proof of beating jack orlando. unless you posted it on the thread it self which isn’t the best way.

Okay I do see you put it on the thread. I would suggest doing it through the website as thats where games get approved and saves hassle of finding your name. Well done though still on beating a game and joining the event

how do you submit screenshots on the PAGYWOSG site? i added my game to this month’s event & had a look at the FAQ - the screenshots there suggest that i link to my comment in this month’s thread. is this the way to go?

Cece09

That faq is super old, its still got the old owners name down. Just did what you did with the thread. Simply put the link there. Or if you find it easier on the thread just link your comment with that perma button. I actually see you managed to do it that way

Now of course you don’t have to, no one especially me is gonna enforce it I just know how much work goes into the site and how just simply getting the tags right makes everything 100x better. I’m not one of the people who does any of the approving or anything to do with the same site, just someone to talk to but I get so thankful when I see everything going smoothly so thank you for putting down a link as a way to help.

Oh hey there’s one of them down there now

Welcome! Its always nice to see new faces around here. Congrats on beating the game even though it was a pain.

People are either creating their own layouts with html or using the blaeo generator. the generator is a must for me personally

thank you! i’ll need to think about a strategy for tackling my backlog on the whole.

If it helps, I usually sign up for the Challenge Me that blaeo does every month. You can ask to be challenged and someone will pick a variety of games from your backlog for you to play. You can even make a list of games they can choose from.
There’s a steam group called Play or Pay that does the same thing, if you aren’t already a part of it!

I’m sure you’ve seen it already but theres also the Monthly Theme
Good luck on your backlog! I’m constantly struggling to fight mine as well :P
