PoP Aug/Sep/Oct

Was planning on including this at the end of my last post but the picks were delayed due to some group changes, the main one being having 3 months and 7 picks. I’ll see how I get on… currently playing the first Assassin’s Creed and plan to continue through the series with maybe one a month. Of the picks chosen it’ll be good to finally play HL2, I’m going to include the other episodes and Lost Coast which has always bothered me sitting in my library and being so short! Read Arbiters post on Vampyr the other day which has dampened my enthusiasm a bit towards it but still looking forward to it though due its setting, and Monster Hunter scares me with its estimated amount of hours to beat it, not sure what to expect having never played a Monster Hunter game!

thanks! I didn’t know PoP August was live already <3
Have fun with the picks!

Joe

Just looked at what you’ve got and I played Darksiders last round and overall had a good time with it, hope you do too! :)

Vito

Looks like some great games! I’m playing 911 Operator atm and while the game’s not perfect, it’s definitely enjoyable. Happy backlog-hunting :)

Joe

Thanks Vito, it looks good as something different from the rest, I’ll try and fit it in, have you played with any of the DLC? I just saw they’re all on sale so might be tempted if they improve it.

Can’t tell you much about the DLC’s since when I played it there were none. But I enjoyed it very much, which is why I suggested it for you :)

Joe

Haha it’s nice being picked games you’ve enjoyed yourself, it’s a good sign it should be worth playing! Thanks for all the picks, there wasn’t really much room in the comment box on the spreadsheet so I couldn’t go over them but I’m really happy, hopefully I’ll play all 3 :)

samwise84

No worries :) And you are welcome. I always try to go with something I at least played myself, as far as it is possible. Or something I myself am interested in. Concerning 991 Operator, I bought the DLC’s during summer sale, just to have an excuse to play it again ;)

Vito

I’m not 100% sure, but I think they mainly add some variety. I don’t think they are necessary for a first playthrough, but make further playthroughs more enjoyable. I played the game in 2017 originally and am revisiting it now because it got new achievements. When I originally played it, there were no DLCs and it got a bit repetitive/boring after maybe 10-15 hours of playing.

Joe

More variety definitely sounds good if it starts to get repetitive near the end, I’ve already got the Special Resources one so the complete edition isn’t too much of an upgrade, hopefully it’ll be worth it! Thanks for the answer :)
