Update number unknown + 9, still about teamwork.
Shadowgate ⌛ ~25 hours | ✪ 45/60 | ☑ Beaten |
I admit that I wouldn't get anywhere without a walkthrough and though Dandey was doing better than me, they had to resort to a walkthrough as well. All those puzzles were pretty tricky! Despite the difficulty, Shadowgate is an awesome, dark point and click adventure and I liked it a lot.
One huge disappointment (at least for me) was that at the end of the game, we got an intriguing teaser for another Shadowgate game that was planned to come out in 2016, but apparently was since cancelled, because I couldn't find any mentions of it anywhere :/
Memoria ⌛ ~10 hours | ✪ 31/31 | ☑ Completed |
I was quite concerned about Memoria, as I've read that it's pretty much neccessary to play Chains of Satinav first in order to understand the story, but I'm happy to report that I was able to enjoy and understood Memoria just fine. In fact, I enjoyed it a lot. Nice graphic, good story, smooth gameplay... I'm most definitelly going to buy and play Chains of Satinav at some point as well!

Thank you! Good plan about trying Chains of Satinav and possibly skipping straight to Memoria if you don’t like it. Though if Satinav is anything like Memoria (and I suppose it is), then you probably will enjoy it :)
Yayy, I’m glad you enjoyed The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut!
Also I liked Chains of Satinav more then Memoria personally. Memoria seems prettier and better made overall though, so you may or may not like Chains.
Thanks for that giveaway, again. I’m happy I won it :)
And well, we’ll see about Chains of Satinav. I bet it’s gonna be worth it just to experience the first “part” of the story :)
Van Helsing: Final Cut was a bit weird as it felt like 3 games stitched and not one cohesive one; as you said though it was pretty convenient to play a single game with the same character instead of 3 different ones. I really enjoyed all the banter with Katarina too, enough that I actually feel like it carried the game for me in certain spots
Well true, they are pretty much 3 games stitched together after all, haha :D But I don’t mind too much, not like they could rewrite the story for the sake of the Final Cut or something :)
You’re like the third or fourth person I know who had happened to play Memoria before Chains of Satinav. I think it’s funny that it’s a little phenomenon of people just playing that first.
Hah, that’s curious indeed! I would say that perhaps Memoria gets regularly bundled or something, but that’s the case as far as I know. Hmm…
