☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Finally, some good fucking VNs!!

Falconers: Moonlight is a Thai-made VN set in late 1800s New Zealand with what, to me, reads as American Wild West flair. Cassie, our protagonist, is a Falconer, a travelling sheriff-type who hunts evil beings called Cullers - and there’s a Culler that’s taken residence up near Moonlight.

This is really a neat little gem that I’m sorry to see will only be a standalone! It’s written and paced incredibly well, feeling like an hour-and-a-half long episode of a television series. It sets up everything just as it should, and each of the characters featured fits an archetype well AND still stands out as their own person, even in the relatively short runtime. I like the art style a lot, too, which is a bonus, and there’s a fair amount of dynamic CGs that all look really nice.

It’s still a short game, which means there’s not a ton to say - it establishes itself, does what it sets out to do quickly and competently, and leaves without much preamble. A bracing, refreshing VN to play, and definitely good for those that want to shy away from more anime-type VNs. I will note, though, that there’s a decent amount of blood and gore - not disgustingly so, but it’s present. There’s also some realistic bug imagery. If you can handle Fallout or Dead Space games, you’re fine, but if you’re on the squeamish side, here’s your warning!

This is going to end up on my Visual Novel Masterlist! Whoo hoo! Yeah, remember that one? Hasn’t updated in a while, huh!

Next up: …. okay! This was a gift from the very kind iocaio on Steamgifts, and I’m appreciating it in the spirit of a gift!

See you soon!

oh damn the masterlist. Now I want to try it
plus you are speeding through ur games now. guess you got some free time

Amitte

Now that she’s finally free from the clutches of Hakuoki… YEAH, PROBABLY :D

Cece09

definitely. im stuck on it myself and its definitely draining considering its only 2 hours per person

Amitte

Yo… I mean, I still remember wanting to die while rolling around struggling to find a comfortable position in front of the TV, in hopes that I’ll be able to bear some more of the PS3 version… knowing I’m still not done with that one, and that I’ve also got both the Steam games, you’re seriously scaring me ><

tsupertsundere

You should! It’s good, and I’m happy to always direct some money to tiny devs.

Also - not necessarily! Just playing much shorter VNs. This one I probably won’t finish for another week or so, though it IS better than I was afraid it’d be. (Still basically a Higurashi clone though)

Cece09

Ah just noticed you also made some progress on your game to so with story and game together it was starting to look like you had some free time

Went right on my WL :)

Niiiice, Nin! I hope you like it!

I don’t know if you’re sensitive to it, but there is some blood and gore. Action-y blood and gore, but still all the same. Oh, shit, let me add that in the review!

ninglor03

Thanks for pointing that out. I think I’ll manage though. Well I hope. Otherwise I’ll ask Tizio to click on, until it’s over ;)
