Second week of December

So for December I had a plan to complete one game for each day as some sort of Advent calendar and I am currently 7 days ahead of schedule (22 games done) which makes me extremely happy :D Also for some reason this week I completed a lot of games with sequels o.o Adding to that I also had really good luck with all the games running completely fine on Linux except one that would not start.

Completed SG wins

Sapper boom!
Playtime: 7 hours

Review: You would think you can't fuck up something as simple as a match-3 game, but the devs of this one proved the world otherwise as this is a laggy barebones match-3 game. It also looks like it was made with an engine for VN games which blows my godamn mind why would someone ever thing that is a good idea. I guess it works fine with Linux.

Other completed games

Space Pilgrim Episode I: Alpha Centauri
Playtime: 2.7 hours
Achievements: 7 of 7 (100%)
Review: I kinda don't really know too much about the story as I was watching Youtube and using a walkthrough while playing it as I wanted to have the game done as soon as possible. But generally it did not seem to be too bad. Considering it is an RPG maker game the controls are annoying however. Works without issues with Proton.
Space Pilgrim Episode II: Epsilon Indi
Playtime: 2.7 hours
Achievements: 7 of 7 (100%)
Review: Exactly the same things can be said here as for the game above. Also works without issues with Proton.
Don't Starve
Playtime: 6.5 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: It is a really nice survival game that works flawlessly on Linux. I actually haven't played it in a long time (I usually used to play it while to board a plane at the airport as it even runs on my potato laptop fine, so my playtime is actually higher than what Steam shows), but I figured I probably won't really pick it up again so I might as well mark it as so.
Don't Starve Together
Playtime: 12.5 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: Same as Don't Starve, just this is multiplayer which works without any issues and neither does the game have any issues on Linux.
Runaway Express Mystery
Playtime: 1.7 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: It is a decent HOG game that works fine with Proton.
Withering Kingdom: Arcane War
Playtime: 1.8 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: If I say it is a Digital Homicide game you should already know everything you need to know about it, but just in case you don't: it is a buggy piece of shit. Works fine with Proton.
Withering Kingdom: Flurry Of Arrows
Playtime: 3 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: Supposedly someone else that is not Digital Homicide developed and published this game but it is all a big fat lie. It is literally just a reskin of Withering Kingdom: Arcane War and it doesn't change or improve anything about it. Also works fine with Proton.
Space Pilgrim Episode III: Delta Pavonis
Playtime: 3.9 hours
Achievements: 7 of 7 (100%)
Review: Same as the other 2 previous Space Pilgrim games above. Also runs fine with Proton.
Space Pilgrim Episode IV: Sol
Playtime: 3.6 hours
Achievements: 10 of 10 (100%)
Review: Annnnd unsurprisingly also the same applies to this game as the previous 3. Also works fine with Proton.
Burgers
Playtime: 8.9 hours
Achievements: 5 of 5 (100%)
Review: A really bad side scrolling shooter. There are some guns where you can shot the enemy, the loot will drop and then a second later the enemy will finally die for no good reason (the gun doesn't have any special effect, the game is just fucked). Works fine with Proton.
Crow
Playtime: 1.5 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: Some crappy game where you play a crow and fight various monsters. It absolutely screams that this was originally a mobile game and I wish it stayed that way. Works fine with Proton.
Why So Evil
Playtime: 2 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: Why so shit? It wouldn't have been too bad (but still not good) if the controls where ok and well responsive as they should in a game where controls matter a lot (you are supposed to get a cube from point A to point B avoiding a bunch of obstacles) which completely ruins the game. Works fine with Proton.
Why So Evil 2: Dystopia
Playtime: 5 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: I found the controls of this one to be a little bit better than the previous but I didn't not like the colour element that was added to the game which made me dislike the game anyways. Works fine with Proton.

I laughed out loud reading your reviews. Luckily it is the middle of the night and noone is here in the office.
I see you had a lot of fun with your gaming marathon. You definitly need to get better games.

MouseWithBeer

I am glad you did :D
I will run out of bad ones at some point sooner or later :P it has to happen right?…

samwise84

Well one can hope and dream :P

Cece09

so many games done but this is what me and sam meant about your amazing games.

MouseWithBeer

I know, I know… but the crappy ones are usually the fastest ones to beat so…. yea… I also have lots of them…

A lot of people say that Space Pilgrim is good for an RPG-Maker game, but I found the entire series really boring. There are really good rpg-maker games like Rakuen, Lisa, and Oneshot. Also good job knocking out the bad games first, good luck on your challenge!

MouseWithBeer

I kinda just blitzed through all of those games not really paying any attention to the story so I can’t say if it was boring to me or not. Thank you! :)
