Getting the hang of this now

Hello Backloggers! Here is my potato!

Life Progression

Life is getting a bit blegh at the moment. I think I am hitting that “end of year I want leave” vibes but really enjoying the job still. This first year of working and paying my own way has been tough but I feel great about it. The feeling of independence is awesome.

Game Progression

Now for the real reason we are hare. GAMES! And boy do I have a story to tell you…

Since the last update I have 100% completed 3 other games and won two more \o/ I am really enjoying this single player renaissance that I seem to be going through at the moment. This is quite an achievement seeing as Rebel Galaxy was the first ever game that I 100% got. Now I am up to four and the bug has caught me solid XD
I won Borderlands 2 and Day of the Tentacle [just need to get the link, will update accordingly] so these will be added to the library, keen to play a new point and click. I loved the Monkey Island series so I am happy to give this one a bash now as well. I also bought 6 new games during the Halloween Sale namely Inside, Firewatch, Metro 2033 Redux, Metro Last Light, The Solus Project and World of Goo

I finished Evil Genius for like the 12th time, first time on the Steam Version that I have. It is a brilliant little game and get flippen tough towards the end but I am incredibly keen for the sequel. I suggest you pick it up some time during the upcoming sales if you like management games.

I completed Firewatch to be honest I am a bit sad that it was so short. Walking through the forest was quite great and the achievements were pretty easy. I need to go back and play it with making all the opposite decisions to see what happens but for now there are other games that need my attention.

I completed Orwell this game as great! I feel like it has been over looked somewhat but being a fan of George Orwell’s 1984 this game was so cool. It takes a bit long and requires a butt load of reading but the premise is awesome. Looking forward to the next installment :D

Not sure what I will be playing next, I will probably dive into Inside as well as get back to The Witcher 1 we will see what the future holds. Also keen to get back into Fallout 4, will get the DLC for that soon then dive back in. I also am thinking about diving back into Team Fortress 2 now that the new update has dropped.

  • Evil Genius

    31 hours playtime

    no achievements

  • Firewatch

    4 hours playtime

    10 of 10 achievements

  • Orwell

    11 hours playtime

    27 of 27 achievements

Conclusion

Happy to be getting back into gaming, life seems simpler now :P

Until next time

I struggled with the Witcher 1, 2 was nicer. Tell me how 1 works out for you.

Griff3nZA

Will do, I played it for like 5 hours a day for a few days straight and then just stopped :/ So I hope I will get back into it soon.

Vito

So many good games are named in your post. I too think Orwell is a great game, one of the best games I played in the last months. Glad to see others enjoy it as well.

Rebel Galaxy was one of the most fun games to 100% and it’s the only “long” game where I got all the achievements.

Have fun with your next games, looking forward to the next update!

Griff3nZA

Thanks man. With Rebel Galaxy the grind at the end to get 2500 fighters and 1000 capital ships not to mention the 20 Pirate Lords as a bit tough :/ But it was a game that once you have achieved 100% you feel such a great sense of accomplishment

Thanks :D

Vito

Yeah, the Pirate Lords took hours to finally get them all to spawn… Though it was a grind, it was still okay, because I liked the game quite a lot. I think it is one of my favourite (and proudest) games to achieve 100% in.

Happy gaming :)

Griff3nZA

Right :D

Happy Hunting :D

ninglor03

Good to hear about your life progress :)
I can see how earning money for yourself can be both tough but liberatingly (well, that doesn’t seem to be a word. My bad :D) awesome ;)

Orwell is still waiting for me. But heard great stuff about it. So nice work here!
I’m sceptical about TW1, it didn’t work that well for me. Like… Geralt and I had quite a bit off problems. And it’s sooooo slow paced - no easy way to travel, no horse, no nothing but footwork! :((((
Hope you’ll enjoy it anyway :D

Have a great time!
Happy backlog killing!

Griff3nZA

Yeah its great, but you realize just how much stuff your folks used to pay for you and it is quite staggering :/

Yeah, I have a soft spot of old games like that though. I really enjoy Morrowind still. I’m weird like that :P

Thanks man.

ninglor03

Urgh, I knooooooow! Having my parents pay for everything is the worst part about being unable to support myself dies a little right now
But glad to see you doing it! :)

Aw, that’s cool then! Guess they work way better for you in that case! happy

Girl, scratch the man, my inner man is not that present, that he wants to be acknowledged ;)

Griff3nZA

Yeah, my folks are great though. Very grateful :’)

Yeah so TW1 is not so bad in my books :D also the fact that I haven’t played any other ones I think makes it easier.

I do apologise Miss XD
Happy Hunting ;)

ninglor03

That is nice and important and awesome! happy

Yeah, I also started with the first one and went on from there. Didn’t help me out though :D
But I guess ppl made it sound super awesome so my expectations were pretty high maybe?

:D Accepted!
To you too :)

Blue Ϟ Lightning

\o/ you seem to be doing well \o/

haven’t been able to get the motivation to play the witcher 1 I read something about how much someone hated it and get turned off then hear someone say it wasnt that bad and gain some interest again.

also I want firewatch but for the amount of gameplay I still feel like its unworth it.
maybe if it ever goes on a deep sale or becomes bundled

Griff3nZA

Yeah, very grateful :D

Yeah it is pretty good I reckon. I haven’t played the others so I will probably only realize how bad it is when I start The Witcher 2 or 3 but until then it is fine :D

Yeah, flip it was short. But there is a lot in the game and depending on your playstyle you could actually get like 6 to 8 hours out of it I think. It is definitely worth it on a deep sale :D I bought it in a bundle to get Inside as well so it was kinda an added bonus :D
