Congratulations on all your assassinations!!!! ᓚᘏᗢ
I was going to say something along the lines of “RIP your backlog” but I see you actually picked up some good quality games! Not sure what you gaming plans are for June but I hope you get to Stray soon!

Also a bit of warning: It’s pretty much impossible to 100% Meadow. It’s a game that by design needs to be multiplayer, plus you have to buy every single other Shelter games to unlock characters. If you have 3+ friends it’s an enjoyable hangout game with lots of fun exploration areas and caves, if it’s just you…. you might wanna do other things since you can’t even communicate with anyone without unlocking emotes which is honestly more complicated than it needs to be.

You need to break Obelisks to get skins and emotes, so you will need a 2-4 group party, but to make it harder, you have to be a specific animal combo to break them, like one party member must be a goat, one must be a deer, one might have to be a hedgehog or something. Also to make things more fun, all the animals are different speeds so you might lose your badger friends if you frolic as a deer.

Thank you! I’ve been working on it, but it always grows :(

As for Meadow, thank you for the warning. That is likely going straight to my “won’t play” and “hidden games” categories, then. I can’t be bothered to do all of that, especially when I don’t really know anyone I play with who would be interested in achievement hunting this with me :/

Considering the Meadow - if you don’t mind that you won’t easily 100% it, I wouldn’t write it off. It is a rather relaxing and enjoyable experience. There aren’t as many players as when it started (apparently), but there are still people playing it. When you enter the game, you can see if anyone is there and join with them. Or the other way around, you can start alone and find yourself surrounded by other animals. The in-game communication is a little bit cryptic, as you can use only a set of emotions/icons, but there are nice guides where you can learn about their meaning beforehand. Encounters with others are quite fun.

You can get 7 animals without the need to own anything else from the Shelter series. Not saying that it doesn’t sucks to have animals (and achievements) tied up with purchases of other games, but it’s not necessary to simply enjoy the game.
Also, you don’t have to open the Obelisks to get skins/emotes/new animals. The puzzle pieces (pink, blue, gold) required for it can be found around. With the Obelisks, it’s just quicker.

If you don’t have anyone to start playing with doesn’t mean that you won’t find some partner in the Meadow. You can always check out the discussions.

Those are pretty fair points. If I didn’t have like 900+ games to play, then I wouldn’t mind the difficulty in 100%ing it, but… I can easily see myself getting too frustrated seeing this in my “currently playing” category semi-permanently (similar to Binding of Isaac) with my lack of free time IRL and a bunch of other things. Regardless, I may still give it a shot in the future, as the concept looks pretty cool and it is a SteamGifts win. Id like to play all my wins, out of respect for the gifter and those who missed out on a win due to me winning.

Ooo, As Dusk Falls and Botany Manor are pretty good!

Can’t wait to hear what you think about HuniePop… the pervert classic.

VinroyIsViral

Yeah, they looked pretty interesting! Hopefully, I can get to Botany Manor soon enough. Also, regarding HuniePop, it is surprisingly hard the longer you play xdd

Yeah, I still remember closing it by force whenever I was about to fail the run. Can’t remember now if it wasn’t made to be quit during dates, my laptop being old, or a bit of both.

VinroyIsViral

Naw, the strategy is definitely to quit during the date if you’re going to fail it later on. It works just fine. I don’t particularly like that I need to do that for optimal progression in Alpha Mode, but it is what it is…

Drop duchy ! I’ve an eye on this one but the magazine i read rated it quite harshly saying it’s “more large than deep”, what do you think about ?

VinroyIsViral

I think that it is a solid game! I’ve been having a lot of fun with it, and I honestly disagree with what the magazine says. While I can see where they are coming from, I think the depth is dependent on the player rather than the game. The game doesn’t exactly force you to experiment with all the different things it has, so if you just do the same comfortable build every time, then I can see it becoming monotonous. However, if you were to experiment, I think there is a lot of fun to be had even after you finish the main stuff you can do in the game. It isn’t a game you’ll play forever, but not all games need to be that way.

coleypollockfilet

You’re not wrong about not all games need to be played forever ! Thanks for your explanation, it’s appreciated !

Of course!

How is My Holiness the Gobliness? Saw their booth at a game con a bit ago and I like the art style(it’s cute), and the fact that it’s a shortstack goblin that’s a bit chubby(unlike most of the girls that’re thin but with big boobs). But unsure about the actual gameplay aspect.

VinroyIsViral

Mmmm… the yellow means that I have mixed feelings on it. It wasn’t a bad game, but it just felt really tedious due to the gameplay loop, and everything felt so slow. The actual animations also felt really stiff at times, even if there were some golden scenes here and there. I only got it for the shortstack goblin girl, but I was a bit disappointed by how boring most of the game felt. The story was also alright, but nothing to write home about. I explain my thoughts a bit more in my review for the game on Steam, but ye.
