Quite some games this month - strangely it felt like I didn’t have time - so I’ll narrow it down to games that blew my mind!
SG wins :
Little Inferno was probably one of the best game I’ve played! No, seriously. At first I thought it was strangely relaxing to burn stuff, while receiving mail from a strange girl, and then…

Everything don’t have the words in english (not that I could find them in my native tongue…) to describe it… so I’ll leave it here and just say: Play it if you have the chance!

Downfall gory messy and so good! Was kind of disappointed to see the ending I got (described as “good ending”) was actually the worst. Checked the other two and they were way more satisfying!

The Wolf Among Us
This one is now my favorite Telltale game - everything was perfect: the story, the music, the characters. And so many neons!
It was a gift from an amazing Finnish cat aka Uguleley - thanks again! :)

In other news: still bad at DD and Super Hexagon!

I love(ed) The Wolf among us! Such a great game! The atmosphere, the drawings, the voices, music…. <3
Totally get you :]

About Little Inferno. There is a song from Rammstein I just have to think off. Called Benzin. It’s about having to burn things if you really wanna get rid of them. Yeah, don’t ask me, why I think of it right now :] :D

Good luck with next months plan :)
Oh, there is also an amazing TT game to Borderlands. Loved that as well;)
Happy backlog killing!

Selby

EXPLOSIV WIE KEROSIN
You remind me I still haven’t played ME:A… shame

ninglor03

Hihi, that’s it!
Oh no! :(
I still have only played it once o.o

uguleley

So you to think you can drop Super Hexagon and move on to your next batch of games.. there is no easy escape. D:

BEGIN. GAME OVER. BEGIN. GAME OVER. BEGIN. GAME OVER. BEGIN…

Selby

I know :(
I’ll take you with me to rehab!

Formidolosus

Some nice games lined up for next month, you’ll have to share your theory on what’s happening in Her story, once you’ve played it.

Selby

And now I’m curious! Be sure I will! Install Her Story

Selby

OH DAMN!
The coffee! It must mean something!
Still haven’t finish it! Still not sure, I was about to say I have an idea, but then had some since the beginning and it keeps changing so…

Formidolosus

When you have read finished it read Last.M’s post, http://backlog-deepness.rhcloud.com/posts/z7qyw3l

Selby

Just finished the game, spent some time being confused and then read LastM’s post…
The fact that she might be just one person makes so much sense. Took me so so long to even think about it. But then the fact she was living in the attic is so strange… but when I first saw this, nope, nothing! I’m still unsure on why she killed him… by jealousy feels off… but I can’t find a better explanation. Need to sleep on it, maybe I’ll have some kind of revelation tomorrow morning! Funny how the coffee/tea thing did the same to me when I saw it! Didn’t notice the covered arm… I feel like I’ve missed so much…

Formidolosus

Haha yeah there were some things I just thought were bad writing maybe, but it makes a lot of sense if she was one person, but a split personality. I thought the one having the tattoo covered was because she didn’t have it (and was a second person), but it could also have been because she did in fact have it (just covered) and that would be evidence she was the same person. If you’d seen both with their arms uncovered it would have been very obvious what was going on. So like it is she could have had a genuine breakdown and killed him. It’s certainly implied that at the very least her parents were also delivered an untimely demise. I would love to have a final chapter or something where the police say if they ever found another sister or evidence there was none. But I guess not every story is meant to be tied up with a bow.

Selby

I’d like to have some closure too but at the same time the fact of not knowing for sure what happened is what makes the game so great - at least to me. Hope I’ll forget about it quickly so I can play it again!

pearadise

I’ll be curious to see what you think of Journal. There were a few part that really resonated with me and it’s the first (and so far only) game that made me cry.

Selby

Journal is next on my list!
I’ve stopped counting games that made me cry… First few minutes of Firewatch, LiS, TWD…

Selby

I’ve just played Journal
It started with me being kind of annoyed by the fact I had no grasp on what was happening, like stealing this snowglobe. I just had to put up with consequences of something I hadn’t chose to do. The feeling I got from it was really disturbing. I can easily picture how things like this might be hell to a teenager. I watched myself talk down to this girl with blue hair and set up that bitchy Catherine with what seems like a nice guy - that made me feel really bad, and even though I didn’t mean to (I wasn’t sure what a choice in the dialogue would imply) I felt like I probably wouldn’t have made better choices if it were me in this situation. At this point I was uncomfortable and upset and then the ending hit me pretty hard, not only her sister’s death, but how shallow those dialogues were, it kept saying “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry” and I really felt like earlier in the game when dialogues become unreadable when you’re in a stressful situation. It kind of become all blurry and I felt like I was living it, I felt lost and overwhelmed with this dreadful feeling that something terrible happened and everyone around you keeping saying words that don’t have a meaning and you’re screaming inside “tell me what’s going on” but can’t say it out loud because you’re stuck between “I’m not sure I can handle it” and “I can’t stay in this somehow frozen state of ignorance”. I can’t say I enjoy Journal, it made me feel things I don’t want to feel. Everything was so perfectly designed and brought up…

EvilBlackSheep

Congrats on the progress! The wolf among us was so good, it’s definitely one of my favorite Telltale game :3 It’s also nice to see somebody else who enjoyed Little Inferno :D

Selby

Little Inferno was so great! I was expecting some puzzles (not a huge fan of puzzle games) and a nice story. And I got no puzzle, a great story and an adorable crazy neighbor!
I didn’t think I’d like TWAU that much, I was drawn to it because a friend talked to me about it. I really liked how it looked but wasn’t sure I would like the story… Well I enjoyed everything! And now I have a nice Vivian wallpaper on my PC at work!

those lips are sealed

EvilBlackSheep

I didn’t think I’d like TWAU that much either, I hadn’t even read Fables before going into it, but I got so much into the universe, I wish they’d make another one instead of more TWD (I love TWD but the series of Telltales is degrading)

Selby

Never even heard of Fables before playing TWAU actually, just received the 1st tome, I’ll fix that!
Still haven’t played the 3rd season of TWD… I was less shaken and crying in s02, but still enjoyed it. But then when I sometimes think of TWD it’s always the 1st season that comes to my mind… They set quite a high standard with the 1st season…

EvilBlackSheep

I haven’t either, I was waiting for the last episode to come out and then i had a very very busy week. Will play it for PoP7 after next week end, but i’ve read it’s not that good. The first season was the best imho.

Fnord

Borderlands 2 is a bit of an undertaking, but the other games you’ve picked for the month should not be lengthy. Good luck with those!

Also, that bit at the end means roughly “that’s it”, right? (Trying to remember the few bits of Finish my great grandmother taught me when I was 4).

Selby

Well, I’ve already played Borderlands 2, never on steam though and I thought I’d try a playthrough with Krieg, I’m kind of stuck with Gaige, only things that I have to do seem grinding and breaking all my hopes and dreams on Dukino’s mom at Digistruck Peak…

Yep, “that’s it”, only two words I know in Finnish! I love how Finnish sounds…
