Monthly Update #12: April
One Year of Backlog Assassins!
My month started strong, with a fair few completions in the first week. Then... the rest of the month I've played some multiplayer games and essentially did other things instead of play games lol.
Woops.
And of course, heaps of backlog additions. I'm definitely becoming a collector at this point D:

I had a lot of fun co-oping this game with my friend. We started to get a bit over it when we hit 100 hours, but were both determined to finish the achievements.
After hating life attempting the 2 Prairie King achievements, we ended up modding the game and essentially god-mode'ing it. We are filthy cheaters, and proud of it. How dare they have a high skill based hard mode mini-game in a casual game! :P
If you have never tried Stardew Valley - go buy it. It's great :)
I could never be a Mortician. Even doing the embalming of bodies with the cute graphics made me feel sick lol.

I started playing this while working so about an hour of my time spent was semi-afk.
Also managed to miss an achievement and had to backtrack, but luckily this game has chapter-select!
Not quite what I was expecting, but I liked it.
This game was actually really interesting. I liked being able to find out more of the story as you found more videos. I have a pad of paper covered in scribbles of keywords to try search!
Achievement wise, I needed help to find the last couple of videos I didn't find, which were all variations of yes/no due to having to use quotation marks in the search field… which annoys me haha. So close to getting them all without that! And also the mini-game. Because eww.
But yeah I definitely recommend this.
Like most people, an attempt to get the key for Moons of Madness, which I didn't end up getting in the end.
However I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game!
Short walking simulator I got for free on Steam. Collect a few items.
Nothing exciting. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to spend money on it.
Pretty average honestly. A lot of questions on movies like Ice Age… some issues with spelling of answers as well. Oh well entertaining as a small break in-between work
Cute puzzle game - I still have the 'endgame' to go, which is essentially the whole game over again in a weird alternate world haha.

A lot of second games in a series strangely! And of course, a helluva lot of Beat Saber on my Quest >.>
I'm surprised at how long I lasted in Alien: Isolation. I bought it because I love Alien... just not really horror/survival games. I was streaming it to friends in Discord so I had motivation to not chicken out in the first 5 minutes haha. Got my $2 worth out of it already so I'm happy. We'll see if I continue it.....
HumbleBundle wins again.
1st day of April, and HB brings out the big guns with the Covid-19 bundle. Welp. April fools! :P Yes I'm listing everything I activate, so it looks more horrifying to me how my backlog is exponentially growing. Oh well.

Happy BLAEO birthday! That’s a lot of addition, not gonna lie. But the Covid19-Bundle was quite tempting indeed. A few years ago I would’ve gotten it for sure as well. So don’t feel too bad about it, as long as you enjoy some of the games you got with it.
On the plus side you’ve beaten Stardew Valley, that’s no small feat.

Hahaha yeah… since joining I’ve pretty much doubled the amount of games I’ve owned. But hey, moving from an MMO to suddenly wanting to try everything else… everything is fine…. :P

I’m really interested in Boundless, but I know my laptop can’t handle it, so I’m staying away from it (for the time being). And I also should go and do more of Glass M. 2!
Etherborn is a relatively small game, you can play and be done with it easily. And if I’m not wrong, it doesn’t have any missable achievements! I played it this month and am already forgetting lol. That’s my memory for you. :P
Haha glad to beat expectations! They are mostly small games ;) And yeah backlog…heh. One month I’ll be negative in the backlog.. one day….
Boundless was interesting. I spent my hour playing just looking at others creations haha. So I didn’t really get a feel for anything else, except the ways you can die. I tested that! GM is a good game for when doing online chat at work.
Hmm I should add Etherborn to my games to attempt in May then!
