January’s Stats

aka. Slow start and lots of zombies

Hello fellow Assassins! I hope you had a good start of the year, gaming and otherwise. Been putting a lot of hours into Days Gone so not much more progress was made apart from a few shorter games and some time into the 20/22 challenge. I’ve been having a blast with it though, despite the plethora of bugs I’m encountering. I’ve been doing pretty good at not adding much to the backlog too, so I’m starting the year on a small victory over the backlog. Did you guys bought anything during the Lunar New Year sales?

Not sus at all haha

I only bought GODS Remastered, because it’s super cheap and gets removed soon. I kinda wanted to buy few more cheap games but I spent too much back during winter sale and I didn’t get to work a lot in January so saving for now :V

EvilBlackSheep

It helped that it was so close to the winter sale to avoid spending money tbh.

Congratulations on your assassinations! also on adding one game to your backlog, sometimes it’s hard to restrain yourself during steam sales. ;w;

Did you guys bought anything during the Lunar New Year sales?

Only 1… Lego City Undercover. I asked for a refund for one of the games I bought during the winter sale so I had some extra Steam wallet money, and it was cheap (significantly cheaper than real Lego T_T).

EvilBlackSheep

Oh, I’m curious about this one, please let me know how you like it (I loved the Lego Star wars/indiana jones and Batman series) And yes I feel you, so much cheaper than real lego, i’m into that wormhole T__T

IcyGlare

Sure, I’ll let you know. It’s next on my “to play” list. I think I’m done with FAR: Lone Sails because that last (and very annoying) achievement was bugged, so I’ll be playing Lego City Undercover soon.

IcyGlare

I still haven’t finished Lego City Undercover, but I think I’ve played enough to have an opinion about it.

So far, it’s ok. Not bad, but I’m not hooked. But it’s more because of annoyances like no manual save, terrible keyboard controls, and my PS4 controller not being recognized by the game. I just play enough to finish 1 chapter a day because it only saves between story missions. As for the PS4 controller issue, I have to use DS4Windows to emulate an Xbox controller. If the other lego games are like that and you didn’t have any issues, you’ll probably be ok with it.

People describe the game as lego GTA. No idea how accurate that is because I’ve never played GTA, but it has some features that are similar to the Saints Row games. You can drive around the open world, steal cars, do some activities, etc. There’s combat, but it’s too easy and simplified (so far). I can’t really compare it with the other lego games because the only one I’ve played before this was Marvel Super Heroes 2.

EvilBlackSheep

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It does sound like GTA/Saints Row lego indeed. In other lego games i’ve played they are all “themed” on a movie or series and follow more or less some story rather than an open world but the combats are fairly easy too so the big difference seems to be on the chapters vs open world part.

Thanks again for taking time to share <3

Just an update (probably the last). My experience with the game significantly improved after unlocking more costumes/abilities and all metro stations (fast travel points). Going from point A to B is no longer tedious, and roaming around and gathering collectibles is now fun. Taking my old Logitech F310 controller out of storage, and using it instead of my PS4 controller also helped. :p

The later levels are better. Combat still isn’t hard, but it’s not as boring compared to the earlier levels. There are also more checkpoints in some of the later levels so you won’t have to start from the beginning of the mission if you quit the game before finishing it, unlike in the earlier levels. I think I like the game enough to attempt to get 100% cheevos.

EvilBlackSheep

Noted, thanks for the update. I’ll keep an eye on it <3
