I won’t be saying much about these, since they are HOGs and they all pretty much looks similar (in terms of gameplay).

I'm not sure that idling time on the left is correct. Looking at it, I must have idled when they first introduced that 2h period before cards start to drop.. what looks strange to me is that, this way, actual gameplay falls down to 3.3 hours.. didn't notice Palm of Zoroaster was that much longer than this; perhaps I've left that one running in background more.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even if this has been released later on Steam, it's actually the first episode. You might want to remember it if you want to play them, as here there's a bit more of introduction and facts in the next actually happen after what happens here (not that they are very connected though).
Don't want to say something wrong but I'm pretty sure you need two clicks to open the map (open diary and then select the map) -_-

Snatched a key that Wolfedood dropped in one of their GAs and obviously played for the theme :)
Thanks again, dood ^_^

In case you didn't open Family Secrets', I'll say it again: this is the second installment of the serie (do not mind release date), so go and play that one first if you want to follow the order. (just a suggestion, not mandatory though)

Poor protagonist doesn't even have enough money to get a new dress (or did she buy a new one identical to the other?) ..either way, I refuse to believe she casually wore the same dress both times she went into the house of 1000 doors!
Found a weird glitch that whenever I moved the mouse outside the game window (played it windowed) during dialogues made the speakers' bodies "shatter".

Played the second installment before this one and really liked it, so I grabbed both first and last chapter when I had the chance.
And this month's theme also brought the opportunity to finally play both and complete the trilogy.
You can clearly tell that this one is the oldest, not only from the graphic but also because there aren't object hidden in "normal" scenes (those you wander through during the game).
That's also why I was able to get every achievement here =P
Pretty sure you need two clicks to open the map here too (was it common in old HOGs?); also, there's not quick-travel, meaning that when you have to get an object from the other side of the map, you have to go through all of the places again (and again to go back) :(

Last chapter of the trilogy, wanted to play it sooner but decided to wait until I had played the first first =P
They improved further, adding a lot of puzzles other than standard HOG scenes. Perhaps they're even starting to be a bit too much =P
They also increased the number of objects you need to find throughout the game: 0 in the first episode; 2 in the second (butterflies and illusive objects) and 3 here (feathers, morphing objects and flowers), so try to guess which achievements I'm missing =P
Also, I think that those illusive objects (which are the same of the morphing objects) in the second started to morph as soon as you entered the scene (not sure though), while they didn't in this one; you have to stay in the scene for a while to actually see them morph. There's a second possibility: they only start to morph after you do a certain task, that's why I missed some, maybe I looked for them in a certain scene the first and second time I've been there but they started to morph only after the third time (this is just a speculation of mine).
Feathers I have to say are well hidden (missed some of them too), easy since they are white and whole game is set in snowy mountains =P

Somewhat IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Forgot to say (even in the previous post) that May has been the first month where I’ve beaten more sg wins [4] than how many I’ve actually won [3] ~ YAY!

ninglor03

Yay HOGs!
And Yay on beating more games then winning!
Sounds a bit like backlog killing to me ;)

Have a great week!
Happy backlog/hog killing!

malabagaa

Yup ^_^
I was close to do it in april, with 4 started and 4 added. Only 3 of those 4 started have been beaten though, leaving me with a +1 in the end.
But that game I didn’t beat served to reach my first negative score in may ;)

Thanks, same to you ^_^

EvilBlackSheep

Another nice batch of HoGs!! I intend to go back for more of those once I’m done playing The Walking Dead season 3 for PoP7. I’d really like to play Enigmatis 2 & 3 before the month is over, I really loved the first one.

Congrats on the positive balance, that’s always so satisfying :D

malabagaa

I think you’re going to love the remaining chapters too then :)
..and you’ll also get to know how the story ends!

Thank you ^_^
I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I first noticed it =P

Lucky Thirteen

Nice batch of HOGs, keep up the good work! :)
Personally, I was a bit disappointed with Enigmatis 3. Was expecting the conclusion to be… I don’t know, more epic if you know what I mean.

malabagaa

oh, I get what you mean.. seemed kind of “rushed” to me.. like they used all the puzzles they had before, then they still need to make the end but had no puzzles left.. =P

Forsaken

House of 1000 Doors series was included in House of Snark 6-in-1 Bundle. I played them after finishing House of Snark series. I could definitely see miles and miles of differences in quality between the two series. There are a lot of HoG options from Alawar but I can safely say that in my opinion Snark series is by far their very best. It’s lighthearted, humorous and very enjoyable. It definitely made me chuckle more than a few times. I didn’t play any other decent HoG from Alawar apart from that.

malabagaa

Thanks, I’ll have a look at them ^_^

LastM

Nice profile pic! You seem ready for the summer sale xD
btw, congrats on beating all those hogs!

malabagaa

Thanks :) I’ve been doing it for a while now (both summer and winter) :)
You also reminded me that I wanted to upload them somewhere and perhaps add them to my thread =P

Thank you ^_^
