Stats? Stats!
So I’ve beaten/completed a total of 107 games
But! I added 99 games throughout the year
So in the end I only have a progress of 8 games
Which makes all my progress doesn’t look like it that much tbh!
I should not buy HOGs. That’s it. But… me and HOGs…
I totally stuck to my 8 games per month rule though. I did it! It cost me sometimes a lot. It made me sad and occasionally even hate gaming. Bc I had to beat 7 more games!
So I decided: I won’t do it. This year I want to take my time. I want to be able to go play some endless game and just play it to my hearts content. I don’t want to rush through things, bc I still have to beat x games.
So no rules this year. I even thought about forbidding myself to enter Challenge Me’s and only participating in PAGYWOSG and PoP, but I won’t do that. If I feel like joining an event or getting challenged, I can do it. But I will try… to nod add that many games to my wishlist. And I’m pretty sure I can’t afford that many games this year, bc I will probably have way less money for my hobbys. So hopefully this will still work out. Without restricting rules!
Ah, right. I will also try to finally beat my ABC Challenge and my Batch… runs away

Yeah, 8 games does seem a lot, i can completely understand dropping that goal. I see, you’re at 63% percent beaten and completed games atm, that’s almost 2/3 of you backlog. Pretty good job I would say! Personally I haven’t decided what goals I want to set for myself this year…I feel my weakpoints are long games and achievement games. I’m always a bit reluctant to start those. Long games can be very satisfying once you finish them, but the pure statistical impact is so little. I mean, playing Dungeon Siege 2 for 3 months in 2019 was pretty great, but on the other hand I ofc only finished one single game in that time. And achievements always scare me a bit as well, because I want to get as many as possible once I start a game…I know you know the struggle ;) So maybe I’ll go for something like “beat XX long games” or “beat YY games with achievements”.
Anyway, I’m rambling :D Looking forward to a 2021 with great Ninglor reviews as always!

I’m actually way more happy about having 100 games in a year. But that was only possible bc of 8 games per month. I know I might cry at the end, but I really want to play some long games and I can’t, knowing at the same time I have to beat xyz games :D
So yeah, I totally feel your struggle. Maybe we should abandon short games this year and just do it! (Ok, abandon only in pieces, bc I will still do my PoP games as best as I can :D But I refrained from signing up for the Monthly Theme!)
Yeah, for me that was HITMAN, which took a loooot of my time. But then again I gave it that much room. I could have just done the steam achievements and be done with it. Considering I still missed a few things….

It’s impressive that you managed to beat 8 games each month, I can only dream of beating so much of them lol. It’s ok to stop with that rule if it brought you so much trouble. Fighting your backlog should be fun, right? And beating 107 games in a year is a great feat, too. Little progress is still better than no progress :)
I’m still not sure if I’ll set any gaming goals for myself, aside for trying not to buy so many games.

Yeah, it really is. But also a lot of pressure. We don’t need that, right? Between writing a lot, going out to paint and somehow finding time to game/watch shows… Man, my life is so busy! :D
It was actually only possible to do this, bc I owned a lot of short or super short (under 2h) games. Otherwise I would have failed a couple of times there O.O

Big chunk of games I beaten in 2017 and 2018 were HOGs, which take only few hours to beat. So you can complete a lot.
True. Since I bought a lot of them last year… Maybe I’ll do a HOG spree somewhen this year again and just kill one after the next one :D
wow, i think i’m closer to 8 games beaten all year than each month…
totally agree with no rules! we (me at least) collected these games because we thought we’d enjoy playing them, but saying i’m going to beat a certain number over a time can make it feel like a chore. i’ve been happier letting myself quit games i don’t like without beating them ;)
Aw, but every beaten game is a good game - I might just have gone a bit overboard with the whole thing xD

I mean you did 8 games but it certainly looks like way more. I don’t even want to know how much I did I mean I can already tell I added like 200/300 but who knows how much of that was actually brought and not free
I had a few months with more than 8 games. But the highest was “only” 13 xD

50+ was my highest but that was because a lot of small free games were played. Normally on a good month I get between 20 and 30 it all depends on the types and lengths of them
