It’s Monday ! ~ Wild Ride
Still deep into my backlog, I sometimes find some games that I wouldn’t recommend anyone to play. Even to my worse enemy. My last experience of that sort was Sunday and I think you deserve an in deep explanation of why it was a wild ride.
Classic 2014 remastered HOG so we can have fun with the Bingo (yay, I won’t have spent a few hours on that for nothing !)

What an incredible sense of humor.
The “oh crap” moment followed by “how convenient, the solution is right where I am !”
Fantastic remastered background animations.
Engaging dialogues and characters expressions.
Of course, all this happened during the 15 first minutes of the game. Half through the developers seemed to have given up as well, the main character even stating herself that she hope it won’t last much longer and becoming more and more whiny over time.
What game got you “Oh boy, I’m in for a wild ride” after a few minutes playing ? Were you right ? Was it a funny experience or a nightmare ?
Haha, I played this exact game last month. And was reminded of your bingo card. It’s pretty cheesy stuff. Although I think most genres could have a bingo card thinking about it.
Every genres have clichés, but lately I’m playing a lot of HOG and they do have a lot of those. Maybe once I’ll switch to another style I’ll do some more Bingo ,) !
Yeah, I usually only dip my toes into the genre every couple of months so the glaring cliches are less annoying. I think they do take the prize for convoluted and silly plots, especially as they could get away with just having scenes and puzzles, because that’s all anyone plays them for.
I often have the feeling that they give up as well. If you want to play a really nice series, you can try the Enigmatis, the first one is quite old so it’s not excellent, but the last one is really interesting and the scenes and puzzles aren’t that simple. I even recommend to play the last one twice for reasons I cannot explain without spoiling.
Yeah this game shows of its age especially with all that head moving

I think I still have this game ahead of me. As for your question: Oxenfree. Whoa. Not what I expected. Although I still have to go back in to get the whole story, only finished the campaign so far.
I really want to play that game but my backlog is so big that I didn’t get it yet :) !
I get that feeling every time a game tells me to TAP to perform an action. You know, those mobile ports? It’s usually a bad omen when they don’t even bother to replace the word “tap” with “click”. Most of the time, those games turned out to be just as bad as expected, though I did play a few really good mobile ports :)
Which reminds me Blokin, I spent 10mn trying to move the characters, managing twice without knowing how, then looking in the discussions and eventually finding out in a review that you had to “slide with your mouse in the appropriate direction”, like it’s normal to click then slide in a direction (all in diagonal as bonus). You couldn’t even use arrows or WASD, only the mouse.
Hah, yeah, mouse swipe is so intuitive… :D I finished the game Crow (nothing to do with the comic/movie Crow, unfortunatelly) earlier today, in that game you control the titular crow with mouse swipes too. That’s just so odd.
