July's Theme: Relax IndiePendently
Results

July is over in any time zone already and that means IndiePendent Relaxation is over as well . Hope you all had a good time, feel refreshed and relaxed.

This month numbers are smaller than from June, which can be the result of people relaxing in real life. 33 people dedicated July more or less to playing of 64 games.

The most played games were Hook with 7 players, Gone Home and Lyne with 6 players both.

I had doubts of how to count Stardew Valley as it’s rather subjective in sense of finishing, yet it gives a lot of points. After trying a few ideas it was discovered that top 3 remains unaffected by the fact if Stardew Valley is counted in or not. Here is the absolute top 3 of this month: tso184 with the 1st place, then EvilBlackSheep on the 2nd place, and Daerphen on the 3rd. Each of you will be “player of the week 10 days” for 10 days in that order. You can check below for details or on the link.

A little humble prize for all who participated: click. Hint hint: it might be good for next monthly theme. And 2 more prizes: click, click.

August theme should be up very soon, so stay tuned. Thank you for participating and enjoy the rest of summer!

I’m in the top 10, nice! I would’ve ranked even higher if I didn’t have LYNE almost finished…
I still couldn’t beat my fellow Italian ᵈᵃᵛ◯ᵈᵒ, perhaps I will next time…

malabagaa

Don’t worry, I’m going to place last (or close to that) in august =P

Crystal

Congratulations! Yeah, you were close enough :)

EvilBlackSheep

Thank you for organizing, and congrats to all the members who participated (and in particular to tso184 who totally rocked the event) :)

Have a nice rest of summer too Crystal ;)

Crystal

You’re welcome and congrats being so high in the leaderboards!

rafaelgomesxyz

Thanks for the event and congrats to everyone! :)

Yay, I’m #25! This was a great theme, and I wish I could have participated more.

Crystal

Congrats! And thank you very much for all the help once again!

Still better than me :D Started FEZ, but spent too much time for “side quests” (my real play time is bigger, played in offline). Still not finished :)

mandrill

Thanks for hosting the theme, and thanks for all the work you (and of course revil) put into the rankings once again :)

I think I accidently cheated? … I had Lyne in my post for some time, but removed it about a week ago when I realized I wouldn’t be able to finish it … now I still get points for 4 games in the leaderboards when I only finished 3 :P

Crystal

Hm, true. I noticed that you didn’t have all achievements in LYNE, but I didn’t realize that you have so little achievements there. Removed it. Welcome on the 20th place :D

uguleley

Thanks to everyone involved for the well organized theme! I didn’t have a lot of time to contribute myself but luckily we had other assassins that were more successful. :) Enjoy the rest of your summer too, Crystal!

Crystal

Thank you, uguleley :)

Hrdzk

My first top 10! yaaay. I really enjoyed this month’s theme :) Enjoy the rest of summer guys!

Crystal

Congratulations! Happy to hear that :)

Ghostie

Grats everyone, good job getting that backlog down a few. :)

& Thank you Crystal for hosting. :)

Crystal

You’re welcome. Revilheart made a lot as well :)

malabagaa

Good job guys ^_^

Crystal

Thank you! Congrats with your rather high score :)

malabagaa

They were mostly short games and I “forcibly” took some free time ‘cause I felt I needed it..
It won’t always be that way though :\ Do you know anyone who’ll pay me for playing videogames, by any chance? XD

Crystal

No, but if you find anyone - please, tell me! xD

malabagaa

ook =P

Marjourie

Woow!! didnt think I would reach the top 10 :) Juy was really great! thanks to all who do all the hard work so we can kill some of our backlog xD

tso184

Wow, I would never have guessed I would have made the top 3, and even reaching the #1 spot? Not bad considering I was away most of the month and almost only played games without achievements (since I didn’t have an internet connection and many achievements don’t register in offline mode) for the later part of the month. I see that getting 92% of the achievements in Banished helped a lot :)

Thanks for putting together a nice theme! Happy to have participated in another great monthly theme, and the first place, what an honour :D

Crystal

Congratulations :) Yes, Banished and Stardew Valley. Though you got only 1 achievement in the last one >:( Anyway, finishing of it is very subjective and you remained leader in both leaderboards - with and without SV. So enjoy being the first player of 10 days (~5 days remain) :D

I’m happy you liked it, thank you!

tso184

Thanks!
That Joja achievement was quite time-consuming for a single achievement. I started with it last time I played the game (it required a brand new game, can’t be done on the same savefile as my main game), but I gave up for then since I had already played the game 60+ hours in less than two weeks and needed a break.

As for “beating” the game, for open-ended games I always set up a few milestones where I consider I’ve seen most of what the game has to offer. In Stardew Valley they were:
1) Play for more than two full in-game years
2) Complete all the bundles (collecting and delivering certain in-game items)
3) Get married and get a family
4) At least 50% of the Steam achievements

I’ll enjoy the next 5 days to the fullest :)

Tristar

wooo, not just not-last but even in the middle ranking this time (*´∀`)ノ

and well done hosting it ^^

Do you know any more about why there’ll be no ranking for next month?

Crystal

Congrats and thank you :) There will be ranking, it will be just a bit different as far as I know. I’m not working on it right now, so can’t say more. I think, you will see very soon :)

Mille_W

I’m so sad I had to move last month. It was a great list with lots of relaxing games I would have loved to have played^^ Buuut I’m more or less back now so! :D

Crystal

Thank you! Well, you can still play them, but I know what you mean :D I like this month theme, I wish there were more games with time manipulation as gameplay mechanics. And welcome back! :)
