Oh, wow…good list. This month I’ve played Paperbark and The Norwood Suite. I’d already played Fidelio. I have Ethan Carter and Maize on my attack plan of games for the monthly theme, but it’s likely I’ll only get to Ethan. Edith Finch is on my wishlist.

Thanks. Your list is quite impressive as well! I actually finished Feather this month but did not realize it was categorized as a walking sim. Next up for me is Dear Esther, The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day, Observer, The Witness, 35MM, CAT Interstellar and Leaving Lyndow, if I get the time obviously. Trying to finish Transistor and The Hex, then 100% Dishonored :P

Well, that list is just all of the game I have that match the theme (plus a couple others). My list of accomplishments so far is here, or scroll down for my entry.

As I say below, the “problem” with games tagged as “walking simulators” is that many of them are not. They are games that annoying people found too easy or lacking in gameplay, so they derisively tagged them as walking simulators. For example, I’m pretty sure the devs of Observer don’t consider their game a walking simulator. Same thing with The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day. I’ve played a few games already this month that I think are mis-tagged as walking sim.

Yeah true. I had no idea Feather could be a walking-sim when there is literally 0 steps taken in the game. With the logic that people used when tagging Feather, Assassin’s Creed games would be more of a walking-sim haha I haven’t played Observer or The Uncertain, so can’t really comment on those.

I played it, the music was really great, not really sure what to think of the story, maybe it was just too subtle for me

I liked the gameplay more than the story. I mean, I liked the story at first, but it just went in weird, unexplained directions. But by that time I’d had fun playing the game so I didn’t mind it not having a terribly satisfying end. The steam store discussion pages have some thoughts on the story and what it meant (and the ending), including some posts by the writer/dev.
